Almost summer
Posted by makala in just stuff
I have been waiting for the sumer to come excitedly for months now for two reasons …. one my promise to let my daughter finish her year out in public school will be complete and we resume homeschool the first week of july just because i feel like theres more things she could of learned this year … and two its gonna start with a move home so our first projects will be how to squish a two bedroom houses belongings into one vanload of stuff we really absoulutely cant live without and a study of maps and where we are moving and how we gonna get there and what we do to settle into a new place. Am thinking that we will be only taking books clothes and computers nothing else so should be fun times ahead.

rough roads ahead
Posted by makala in about my family
Well its been a few weeks since my last posting, alot has happened since then and theres going to be a rough road ahead for me and my daughter. The school thing is not going as well as expected but shes havin fun and meeting and making friends in the area so im letting her stay till the end of the school year. But back to homeschool once the summer comes. It wil be just me and my beautiful baby from now on so it will be a trial to find a balance for everything. But i know that things will work out because God is always incontrol of everything and knows the plans for each of us. Now the next few weeks with her being gone every day is going to be a useful time to get things organized and cleaned up and prepared for the start of a new round of homeschool.
The public school education
Posted by makala in about my family
well as some of you know little miss naughty was let to go to public school at the begiining of the month, under much badgering from her i considered it for a semester. under less then a month and I am already to pull her out of the system altogether, but she has made some friends which were sorely needed as there are no homecshool groups in my area and virtually everkid up here is in public school. In one month she has come home saying names to the dog and to toys such as dweeb and you little twreep, whining and complaining about everything. She told me that they watch mpvies in class and one was about frosty and his majic hat. Plus i had to keep her home from school on on the friday before the 14 because the class was having valentines day after i was told that the school does not celebrate holidays. I am going to continue to let her go for now but I sereiously dount she will continue in the fall. just my observation for one month is enough to know that this is not the lifestyle any child should be brought up in even mine.
first day of junior kindergarten
Posted by makala in about my family
As some of you know we have been homeschooling since june and things were going wonderfully till we moved. ever since we moved into our own place homeschool has gone haywire. we took a break from it for awhile and came back slowly but to no avail. so we had many a discussion about the public school in our area. so with much consideration we have put little miss naughty into class there four days a week and will still continue to teach her at home as well. we had a very productive talk with the principal of the school who is also the language arts teacher of the beginer grades. so we are giving it a try to see what happens. The school seema to be very nice indeed a small country school with a little amount of students. they have mixed classes were many grades are taught at once. my girl is in a class with three grades (j/k, s/k, and grade one) which has maybe 11 students all together. she loved going on the school bus and loves the gym time which she didnt get at home. so we will see what happens with the rest of this year and keep posting even though its not so much about homeschool anymore. But to everyone else out there keep up the hard work its mighty diffucult to do everything and homeschool to.
My home has gone to the apes

well we havent been blogging very much recently ive been so busy since we moved. but i think now were getting back into the swing of things. little miss naughty is enjoying her school work again (i threw in a craft each day) she enjoys them immensly. She started working in the plaid phonics k workbook this week she enjoys the bright pictures more then the black and white ones from the computer. we also are going through the science unit for zoo animals that we did back in june. this time around i am using the kindergarten sheets which are more challenging then the j/k ones. so for the first week we did giraffes , we read ceicly g and the nine monkeys , did some giraffe crafts watched some videos on the internet and completed a lapbook from homeschool share.(pics later) and then we did monkeys with hand, hand, fingers thumb and the lapbook for that, curious george and some monkey crafts to learn about monkeys. now this week we are doing lions so I included the daniel in the lions den lapbook, the books A lion in the meadow and the happy lion roars and national geographics kids lion videos. I love having the internet its a lot easier to get her interested in things now than it was when we first sarted out with no internet. I think next week we will do elephants. any one with any cool ideas please let me know.
a dog in underwear
Posted by makala in about my family
Well my little miss naughty did the most funny thing tonight (she was supposed to be sleeping). I got out of the shower and here stands the dog in the middle of her doorway wearing my red t-shirt and a pair of underwear. can you believe a dog who hardly ever been indoors or around young children letting her dress him up like some doll. It was so funny, and the way they get along like best friends following each other around all day long. Its great how well he fits in the family like we’ve always had him he’s so gentle with her and the poor dog has the patience of a saint. I know he finally adopted us when little miss naughty spent the night away from home and he spent the whole night and next morning whinning and looking for her and she wasnt here. the look on his face when she came home I wish id had my camera. well anyways thats my funny for the day.
Little miss naughty and the new year
Posted by makala in about my family
So I have decided what to do for the next month or so for little miss naughty, she has been havin a rough time since we moved and per a suggestion we have been taking a little break from school work. I think on tuesday we shall resume some things, and take a little different approach. I am going to go back and get her to finish some of the workbook pages that were skipped during last year so this will be like a simple review of things she knows already, and we are going to continue with our literature journey but I will add more time into this than before. I was just at the dollar store this past week and got some franklin story books for a dollar each so we will probably do a franklin study. Little miss naughty also has a love for the computer so I am going to use this more to my advantage over the next few months and get her doing some of the educational games she has but hasnt been using, like reader rabbit and transitional math. And thanks to a site I get an email from all the time I am going to start using videos to do some of the teachings, they had listed on there things like the magic school bus and sid the science kid for cool science lessons for younger kids. So there we have it a more tecnological approach to school for my little techno girl.
Making a baby is harder than I thought
Posted by makala in about my family
Just thought id rant for a minute on my blog cause no one else is listening to me today. I never thought making a baby would actually be hard work but it seems to be for me since I got married. I had my last daughter four years ago and wasnt even trying I found out four months along, And I also had two other girls when I was very young and didnt have any trouble getting them either. But I gotta say this one here seems to be taking its sweet old time implanting itself, I went to the doctor but since we been only really tring for eight months theres nothing to do for four more months(but she gave me some advice anyaway). I am supposed to take my basal temp every morning and lose a little more weight, and do you think I have been able to do either? No Each morning I wake up to a child getting into mischief or not listening to her daddy or having to rush out of bed to wee-wee. And seeing as it is the holiday season and all these goodies are lieing around I would have to say I have probably gained a few more pounds then actually lost some. How does a person actually get outside to excersise when its -30 and the snow is past you knees, The van dont got no heat to drive to any kind of gym to join, and basically I just dont feel like it. Well I just dont know about all this, there was a time in my life when I didnt have to work so hard to become pregnant and I like that time better. And thats my rant for the month.
